GEO  /  Generative Engine Optimization

Your customers asked AI. It recommended someone else.

Forty-five percent of consumers now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini for local recommendations. Only 1.2% of businesses show up. For $149, we fix that, once.

The Scene

A customer opens ChatGPT. They don't type Google. They type the question.

Somewhere in your city, right now, a homeowner is asking an AI model who to call about a leaky pipe. The model answers with three names. Usually confident. Usually wrong about you.

If your business isn't structured so the model can see it, you're not in the consideration set. You're not even being ignored. You don't exist.

Best plumber in Hermosa Beach?
  1. South Bay Plumbing Co. 24/7 emergency service. Strong Foursquare and Google Business presence.
  2. Pacific Coast Plumbing Fair pricing. Consistent NAP data across Bing Places.
  3. Beachside Drain Experts Complete schema markup on their website.
Your business: not mentioned. The model didn't have enough structured data to recommend you.

Why this matters now

SEO rewarded whoever Google ranked. GEO rewards whoever the model can understand. Those are not the same companies.

Research synthesis, SOCi, Princeton, Omni Eclipse, 2024–2026

ChatGPT pulls 60 to 70 percent of its local data from Foursquare. It fills the gaps with Bing. Gemini leans on Google Business Profile. Perplexity is biased toward structured, citation-heavy content. None of them rank pages the way Google does, and the overlap between Google's top results and what AI actually cites is about 45 percent. Being number one on Google gets you, on average, a coin flip.

The single biggest lever, according to the Princeton GEO paper, is citing external sources inside your content. Adding cited statistics lifted visibility by 115 percent. Schema markup, the structured data that tells a model what this page is about, made a site 3.2× more likely to be cited (Milestone, 4,500 sites). Eighty-seven percent of websites still have zero structured data. That is the arbitrage.

AI referrals also convert harder. 15.9 percent versus Google organic's 1.76 percent. The volume is smaller today. The quality isn't close. And the volume is growing at nearly eight hundred percent a year.

i. The cost of being invisible

Every lead you never saw had a price tag.

One missed install. One missed case. One missed roof. AI is already routing those calls. Just not to you. Here's what a single missed lead is worth, by industry, based on average job value and paid CPL benchmarks.

HVAC
$5,000+
per missed install · CPL $104
Roofing
$11,500+
per missed job · CPL $228
Legal
$10,000+
per missed case · CPL $300+
Dental
$800/yr
per missed patient · CPL $84
Plumbing
$500+
per missed repair · CPL $92
Contractor
$17,000+
per missed project · CPL $166

Seven hundred and seven contractors earned a combined $1.04M from AI leads in Q1 2026 alone. The pipe is real. The question is whether your name comes out of it.

ii. What GEO actually does

One payment. We go and do the unglamorous work that makes you legible to a model.

We start with a full AI visibility scan across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Claude. That tells us exactly where the gaps are and who the model prefers instead. Then we go to work on the parts of the internet AI actually reads.

We deploy Schema.org structured data (LocalBusiness, FAQPage, Service) directly into your site. This is the single cheapest lever in GEO and the one almost no one has pulled. We audit your NAP consistency (name, address, phone) across the web and fix the places it drifts, because AI models discard inconsistent entities.

We optimize the three directories that matter: Foursquare, which powers 60 to 70 percent of ChatGPT's local answers; Bing Places, which fills ChatGPT's search gaps; and a full, guided Google Business Profile setup for Gemini. We publish a content seeding package. Listicles and articles on the platforms AI cites most, because listicle-format pages account for 40.9% of all commercial citations.

We run a competitor analysis so you know exactly who AI is recommending and why. We check for hallucinations. Places AI is telling customers the wrong hours, wrong services, wrong phone number. Then we fix the upstream data. We generate an llms.txt file so future models have a canonical, machine-readable description of what you do.

It is a pile of small, correct decisions. You pay $149 once. We make them.

iii. Questions

Short answers. No fluff.

Generative Engine Optimization. The process of making your business legible to AI search engines (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini) so they recommend you when customers ask. Like SEO, but for the model, not the rank. Read more.
We deploy Schema.org structured data that makes your site 3.2× more likely to be cited by AI. We optimize the three directories AI actually reads: Foursquare (powers ChatGPT), Google Business Profile (powers Gemini), Bing Places. We audit NAP consistency, seed content on platforms AI cites, and monitor your visibility over time.
$149 one-time. That covers everything: schema markup, directory optimization, NAP audit, AI visibility scan, competitor analysis, hallucination detection, content seeding, llms.txt. No subscription. The free scan is exactly that. Free, if you just want to see where you stand.
Most businesses see measurable AI visibility improvement within two to four weeks after setup. AI models refresh their knowledge regularly, and structured data plus fresh citations accelerate how quickly they discover you.
ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Perplexity, and Gemini (Google). We scan all four and tailor the optimization for each model's citation preferences and data sources.
No. GEO is fully done-for-you. You tell us your business name, type, and location. We handle the rest.
Because the overlap between Google's top results and what AI cites is roughly 45%. Eighty percent of URLs cited by AI don't rank in Google's top 100 at all. AI pulls from different data sources (Foursquare, Bing, structured markup) than Google's core algorithm. You want both. GEO is what closes the gap.
Helpful, not required. When we scan your site we pull your services, about text, and descriptions to ground your profile and FAQs in real facts. A richer website gives you a more personalized profile out of the gate. If your site is thin (a one-page splash with just a phone number), we still generate a working profile using your industry and location — but a few paragraphs about what you do will produce noticeably better output.
